Volunteering at the Spanish School
The school connects students with volunteer opportunities in Bariloche and the surrounding communities. Two current students, Ellen, a doctor, and her husband, Charles, a computer specialist, wanted to take advantage of this program. For this they headed to the administrative offices of nearby Villa los Coihues, a small village located on the banks of Lago Gutiérrez. Ellen had hoped to work in the health clinic but found that it is only open rarely and so is arranging to help at the hospital in Bariloche. Charles wanted to switch from his normally sedentary work and help with construction, but, when he found that the village water department was having trouble switching their computer program he gladly agreed to lend his expertise. The village administrators have promised to let him break a sweat and help with some construction as well.

Feedback:
Our Spanish Immersion programs are personalized and tailored to our students needs while still covering international contents. Therefore, in case we are going through topics that don’t interest you, we can adapt course content to ensure that you are happy with your lessons. If you are not, please speak with your teacher or with Veronica immediately to organize things according to your preferences. We want you to make the most of your time with us so feel free to express your opinions and make suggestions. By the end of your course, you will have to complete a feedback survey where you will evaluate both your results and the school.
Your stay in Bariloche:
During your stay in Bariloche, you can count on us for any help. Sometimes, cultural differences might make you feel a bit uncomfortable. Please feel free to ask us anything and we will be very glad to help make your experience more comfortable.
First day of lessons:
Students who have applied for lessons in a group will normally have a placement test on Monday at 9:00am. By 10:30 am we will know who will be in each group, these students will continue in their new group right after the test. After your first day, or at any point during your schooling, if you feel the group doesn’t suit you or you need extra help, simply tell us. You can always change into another group or have additional private lessons. If you have asked for lessons in a group and there is no suitable group for you, you will have 15 hrs a week of private lessons for the same price.
Schedules:
Our school runs from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Mostly, lessons in a group take place during the morning from 9:00 to 1:00 pm. We have two breaks during the morning, when you can meet the rest of the students.
Private lessons take place mostly in the afternoon and evenings, however, if these schedules do not suit your activities, it can be discussed. There are hours available on request on Saturday mornings, as well. We are flexible, provided that we can fulfill our commitments with all our students.

Spanish Learning programs for families at Spanish in Bariloche.
If you and your family are planning an interesting trip toghether, including Spanish lessons, here you can read the opinion from a former Spanish student that came with her husband and daughters last June and attended lessons until las February. She acted as a reference for a prospective Spanish student that was interested in a Family Spanish program, and this is part of what Ann wrote: '...As Veronica mentioned, my whole family has attended her language school since we arrived in Bariloche in June. My girls (10 and 12) have been going since we arrived. At first they were together, but more recently separate since my older girl's spanish has improved a lot. The classes incorporate games, conversation, drawing, stories, so they are a lot of fun. My husband was an utter beginner, and he is now more of an intermediate. For him, the school offered a step-by-step program, going through all the grammar and providing lots of opportunity for conversation. I am an advanced student, and so there really isn't a program for me. Instead I've gone intermittently for conversation and review. We've read some literature, and I've done some writing, which gets corrected. Even my Mom (79) attended for a few days while she was visiting. We've obviously been very pleased with the school. All the teachers are youthful, energetic, and welcoming. Veronica goes out of her way to be helpful. She's extremely flexible in terms of arranging times for classes and accommodating our sometimes complicated schedules. She also will set up extracurricular activities and help with any emergencies or issues that arise. We've had a few!...'
Thank you, Ann! I really enjoyed the time you spent with us!

After School activities for students of Spanish in Bariloche. Horsbackriding to Cerro Catedral through Camino Viejo/Balcon del Gutierrez
Balcon del Gutierrez, also called Camino Viejo, is the old trail to get to the Catedral ski resort. Students of Spanish in Bariloche enjoy this activity all year round. This old trail was built in the 40' starting in the head of the Lake Gutierrez crowned by the old Hosteria Los Coihues. It still remains as a rough road for trekking or biking, cars are not allowed to use it. In this area you can enjoy the Native fauna and flora of the National Park Nahuel Huapi during the four seasons. Nowadays, a modern paviment road connects Bariloche town centre with Cerro Catedral in 20 minutes by car.
Walking from Villa Los Coihues, you get up to the base of the Ski Resort in about 2 hs simply; if horsback riding, 1 1/2 hour, more or less. We strongly reccommend this activity.
