At La Montaña Spanish School, student population varies throughout the year. We are proud to ensure an excellent mix of nationalities and the opportunity for students to make friends from all over the world! Each year students come from over 18 countries, with a well-balanced mix of students from US, Israel, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Australia, Brazil, UK,...
Moreover we have students from all ages and backgrounds: University students, professionals, people on gap-year, travelers,  families with children, couples, retired people, study abroad groups, among others.

I have a good base to practice with.

"I had an enjoyable month at La Montaña Spanish School in Bariloche. The teachers were fantastic and they explained how Spanish works well so now I feel as though I have a good base to practice with.

¡Muchas gracias!"

It took very little time for me to adjust to live in Bariloche

"I had a great time at La Montaña. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and it took very little time for me to adjust to life in Bariloche. I am very pleased with the amount I learned in BAriloche in one short month. I am thankful for the education I received as well as the friends I made. I loved the activities we did and I wish there could have been more. Thank you La Montaña!
Class was always productive as long as I was productive. Sometimes I had a hard time focusing because it was a bit early but the games, speaking activities, songs and the videos we watched were very helpful. The homework helped we a lot and I was able to see my progress. Everyone was always very motivating and helped me with Spanish. Thank you!
¡Nos vemos pronto!"

After-school activities: Potluck

Potluck at La Montaña
Potluck is one of our favorite activities. It is a great chance to speak, practice Spanish and learn more from each other.
For Potlucks, we usually ask our students to bring something to eat and share with other students. This meal should be meaningful for their culture or family and explain (in Spanish, of course!!!) why they have chosen this certain food.  It doesn´t mean each student will bring enough to feed the whole group. Just enough amount so that each person can at least taste it. As ancient tribes, sharing food and stories together helps  building a strong sense of community on which tolerance and joy for sharing is based.

Since sometimes it is difficult to find the correct ingredients, some of our students can also choose to buy or prepare some preferred argentine meal.

Preferably taking place on Fridays, this after-class activity is also a great time for a farewell for those students who have finished their Spanish Program.

Don´t miss your chance to share and enjoy with us next time we have a Potluck at school!

Una escuela pequeña pero eficaz, flexible, servicial y familiar. Ofrece ayuda de cualquier tipo, al igual que la familia. Me sentí muy bien cuidada.

Volunteer: What fees are involved?

If you are looking to gain experience in an interesting field, it might be difficult to get this privilege for free. If you were to simply apply to get paid to do the same job, you might find it very difficult to get accepted and it may take many months to sort out both for a position and for a working visa. Also, volunteers and interns who pay to do these jobs provide a very much needed income and services to the NGO, often allowing them to continue and expand their work. You will become an invaluable asset to the NGO during your time here.

Volunteer fee is a combination of: the Project Fee and the Placement Fee. The Project Fee covers the projects costs for making sure you are safe and well looked after, kept busy and making a difference to the area of focus of the project. La Montaña adds no commission to any project. We instead ask for a placement fee to cover our costs for promoting the project and providing volunteer support during the time spent with us. You will also need to cover the cost of your flights, visas (if required) and vaccinations. You should also have a small budget for personal spending, sightseeing and buying souvenirs.
