Things to do in Bariloche #2

One of the magic things about this region in the summer is the long day
light hours. The twilight lasts from about 7pm-9pm. This means that hiking
after Spanish class is absolutly possible. One great hike that has great sunset views
is El Campanario. Practice your Spanish skills on the public bus and tell the bus
driver where you are going. The 35min bus ride on line #20 will drop you
off on the lake front road and as you turn to look up at the cable car station
the start of the trail is on your right by the big wooden sign. Its a steap and
dusty path that winds through Coihue trees and spits you out at the top
30mins later. After the climb you would have put a few beers in the bank!
Unfortunatly, the cafe up there closes as 6pm but they leave their chairs
and tables out so pre-loaded your backpack with refreshments then you can
enjoy the beautiful sunset. Make sure you bring lots of warm clothes
because it is very exposed and of course, a head torch to get back down
again. The bus runs all night long for the journey home or if you want to
break it up a bit there is a great bar on the way home called La Luna which
also quite often has live music.
